  10. What tempo did you use on this piece ? I’m asking because I’ve discovered generative music recently and been experimenting a lot, I always find somewhat things to play too frequently, even though I fiddled with the parameters. Thanks P.

  12. quarter = 120. several principal things can help in that regard. One is programming the “note rest percentage” for a particular voice, or group of voices … such that the likelihood of their playing is either increased or diminished. This can be fixed or variable. The other is actually programming motifs for a voice that are actually basically silence. The former is significantly less tedious, and brings good result.

  14. Thanks a lot, I’m playing also with the rhythm rules, it gives interesting results, it’ll take me weeks before exploring only the main possibilities.

  18. a bit. not enough for me, and perhaps that’s just nothing more than personal preference…

  20. don’t get discouraged. it is not necessarily a steep learning curve, but admittedly a long one … at least for me. i still like to believe in, while letting go, which for a classically trained composer can be difficult … a musical result. if i can’t get it, i won’t produce it … even on this blog.

  22. I find Nodal somewhat arcane after fiddling with it for 2 days. Being a musician, noatikl is more enticing because it provides basis for new ideas.

  24. Yeah, I’ve got to agree with you there. Where are you in this big old world? It continues to amaze me the connections that I’ve made through these posts, and where they’re located. Not such a big old world after all …

Description

My how the time has flown, but life seems to have gotten in the way these last many months.

Wanted to paint a picture with this excerpt that gave the feeling of being windswept … gently, and musically. I find myself wanting to drift off when listening to this for about 15 minutes or more. Nice for yoga, I’d say.
