Description
Here’s a segment of something a little bit more extended than most of the other clips I’ve uploaded here.
It’s a nice breakthrough for me, as it begins to show that, certainly with something more of an ambient nature, generative tools can come through and produce something really quite remarkable.
I’ve enjoyed programming this one . . . hope you enjoy listening as well!

This is really soothing. Sometimes generative music can be quite nice to listen to!
What software did you use? And how did you approach the programming – or composing – of this piece of music?
thanks! i use a generative software called noatikl. it is wonderful for this type of music, and through scripting, is really pretty extensible to take it to other, very different musical places. i’d be glad to share more about that if you like. the company that makes the software is called intermorphic. check them out! i’m glad you enjoy it, and thanks again!
Yes, I have recently been looking into the Noatikl and Nodal software for programming generative music myself. I would very much appreciate if you would share some of your main ideas/approaches to programming this particular work of art.
absolutely. this was a fairly simple one to organize and think through. let me gather some materials for you, and i’ll forward them on to you.
That would be great. Thank you very much!….

thanks! i used noatikl for this. it isn’t really heavy on scripting, but can take advantage of lua scripting language. my approach here was basically to bring in instruments in and out at a predetermined rate for color. nothing very involved, but with good result. the scripting can accommodate harmonic change as well.
Tell me what you're thinking...
